PANEL SESSION:

Development Practice as Development Geography

This panel explores how changing practices of development can inform Development Geography. We identify key themes and raise critical questions about how "geography" and "development" interact. This integration, it is assumed, is central for Development Geography to become more relevant to Development Studies. Panelists draw on their varied experiences to illustrate what they feel are the key issues for scholar/activist oriented development geography that is also conceptually sound.
