Thermal properties of rocks for geological exploration (in cooperation with Xianfeng Chen)

1. Thermal inertia of rocks from an investigation of the thermal band in Landsat TM data.

			The study site is in the Humboldt Range, of Pershing County, Nevada. Click on the images for a more detailed view (100-327 KB) Notice how the normalized thermal image provides details not obtainable from the optical data - or the raw thermal data. This work was carried out when Xianfeng Chen was a visiting scholar from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
