The Bob and Beverly Shumaker Fund

The Shumaker Fund generally has a limited amount of funds available during the fall and winter to help support geologic research and travel by graduate students and faculty.

Please apply to Professor Shumaker in writing for support by October 1 stating specifically:

1. The amount of money requested (show a brief budget; room, travel, food).
2. The purpose for which the funds will be used (e.g. presenting a paper at the, travel to____ to collect data; field work related to--- etc.).
3. The approximate date and amount of funds last received from the Geologic Research Fund or Shumaker Fund.
4. If you have applied to an outside source for funds and if you are supported on a contract or grant.
5. The amount of support from sources other than personal funds (e.g. contracts and grants).
6. The date funds will be needed.

Remember that this is a research fund, and it is usually not available for general travel. There may also be an amount of money available for applications made later in the school year.
