Research
My group studies how and why Earth’s surface changes its shape through time. We use numerical modeling, field work, and GIS analysis to better understand 1) the processes by which landscapes change and 2) how perturbations such as tectonics, climate change, and human disturbances control the shape and evolution of landscapes. Our questions range from basic (how do Earth material properties like bedrock type and sediment size influence topographic change?) to applied (can we forecast future erosion in watersheds heavily modified by human activity?).
