Do you love trivia?  The folks in the Department of Geology and Geography do!  Join National Geography Bowl MVP and Associate Professor of Geography, Dr. Jamison Conley as he hosts a casual stop-by trivia competition.  There is no need to sign up.  Just stop by for a question or two, or stick around for lots of trivia.  We'll have some treats for correct answers.

Join the WVU Center for Resilient Communities (CRC) for an open coffee hour on Tuesday, November 18th, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM in Brooks Hall Room 309. The CRC is dedicated to advancing community-engaged research and education programs that generate knowledge and empower individuals, with the goal of building more just, equitable, and vibrant communities in West Virginia, the greater Appalachian region, and beyond. Through long-term commitments and cooperative agreements, the CRC collaborates with students, scholars, and community partners, both locally and globally, to foster transformative change in our communities. Join us for free coffee and conversations to learn about our community engaged research projects and how to get involved!

Join the Department of Geology and Geography as our undergraduate and graduate students showcase their unique and diverse research projects.  The showcase will take place on the 3rd floor atrium of Brooks Hall, creating a lively space for students and faculty to connect and celebrate their research.

GIS day will begin with a Geospatial Open House at Morgantown City Hall.  Attendees are invited to explore how the City’s Geospatial Services Division uses tools, technologies, and mapping applications to support daily operations and inform decision-making across departments. Representatives from West Virginia University’s Department of Geology & Geography will also be in attendance, showcasing their own GIS initiatives and collaborations.

1:00 PM–4:00 PM Eco-Exchange: Used Clothes Swap

Join students of SUST 102 Global Sustainability EDGE in affirming that less clothing waste is possible. Bring used but clean clothes or other soft items (i.e. purses, curtains, table cloths, etc.) to donate or exchange. Also, come to learn more about the environmental impact of fast fashion (it’s big) and connect with other students eager to do something about it. If you can’t attend, you can donate items in a clear container next to 330 Brooks Hall M-F 8 am-5 pm, starting Nov 3rd through the day of event.
